Since 2011 pro!vision has been developing the Volkswagen mobile web site on the basis of Adobe CQ5. CQ5 allows the marketing department to edit the mobile web sites without any interference of the technical staff and minimizes effort for international rollout.
A special challenge consisted in providing a graphically complex web site without incurring inacceptable loading times.
For the mobile website, too, a data driven approach was taken. The virtual showrooms are automatically generated out of the CRX-based product data repository and therefore don't need to be created manually in a tedious process.
The mobile web site was designed for global rollout right from the beginning. Currently (2014) it has been rolled out to 42 markets. The plan is, however, to roll it out to all 147 markets.
