VW DBS: Car Configurator and Dealer Center
The car configurator is a heart of every automotive brand-website. Volkswagen's iHDCC (intelligent High Definition Car Configurator) offers prospective and actual customers extraordinary opportunities to virtually configure their automobile dream. The integrated Dealer Contact Center (DCC) leads the users directly to the next step in the sales process.
- Take over of a highly complex frontend application
- Integration with Volkswagen's backend systems
- Realisation of a powerful caching based on Couchbase
- Integration with the VWCMS (that is based on Adobe AEM)
Car Configurator (iHDCC)
The iHDCC application provides automobile configurations and the following step of sale initiation and information processes for (prospective) customers. The iHDCC is programmed in Java, runs on Apache Tomcat, and is integrated with the content management system VWCMSD4. Additional data are exchanged with Volkswagen's Integration Architecture (IA) via web services.
pr!vision took the project over from a third party in 2013 and lead it to a successful launch in by now six markets (more to come).
Dealer Contact Center (DCC)
The DC is a two-part application that makes it easy for users to comfortably get in touch with VW dealers.
The first part provides search, information and route planning functionalities. The other part is a Java web application that runs in parallel with the iHDCC on Apache Tomcat and again is integrated with the VWCMSD4 (and also using webservices for the communication with the backend systems).
The second part consists of online forms that are created within the CMS with a so called “Form Construction Kit”. They help the (prospective) customers to get in touch with the dealers and to make appointments. The interface to the different international CRM systems asserts the leads will be processed perfectly.
