Lufthansa Intranet eBase 4
pro!vision provided Lufthansa with a modern intranet including "User Generated Content" and "Closed User Groups" functionality. 40,000+ Lufthansa employees use it since the end of 2013 for daily work. The system replaced the deprecated eBase 3 solution.
The new eBase 4 will soon be used for all group companies and airlines. This will optimize the knowhow transfer and flow as well as cooperation.
A modern and intuitive design eases the daily work. It is of course adaptable to the individual corporate identity of each company and airline. The intranet provides web 2.0 features (profiles, networking, rating, likes, comments, ...) that everybody knows from the internet and appreciates. Users can customize their dashboards with several settings and components.
User Generated Content
The built-in UGC (user generated content) functions of CQ were used to highly improve communication, i.e. featuring comments, comment threads and blogs (every user can create her or his own blog). Users can subscribe to UGC and receive notifications on updates.
Closed User Groups
As in most intranets there are lots of restricted contents. pro!vision used the Closed User Group functionality of CQ and created an interface to Lufthansa's internal Novell Access Manager®. Highly granular permissions can be configured (both for the content created via the CMS as for uploaded files, eg. PDFs. These permissions are handled at publisher stages.
Integrated Enterprise Search
Search (for persons and content) is one of the central functions within the intranet. pro!vision created a complex integration with the enterprise search engine Exalead CloudView®. Not only typical content, but also user profile information and permissions are passed to the search engine.
