“Nothing's more satisfying than seeing our software working as it should.”
e-Plus ist Germany's third biggest mobile carrier. Besides the best known brands e-Plus and BASE, e-Plus runs further brands like Simyo, Ay Yildiz and others. An important business area consists of partner programs with partners like Aldi/Medion, Viva, MTV and others. Each of these mobile brands have their own internet presences.
The heart of these web sites is formed by the so called electronic customer care systems (ECCs). These ECCs allow customers to login with their telephone numbers and a passwords and not only to see their personal data, connection data, online invoices and tariff options, but also to edit them, extend or renew contracts and add or remove tariff options.
Especially for the prepaid brands pro!vision created a so called White Label ECC with Adobe CQ. Using this White Label ECC new brands can be simply created by configuration. A new CSS (stylesheet) and adapted graphics is all that is required for a new brand. The functionality a brand wants to offer (eg. availability of online invoices, tariff options, etc.) is completely controlled by the editor in the marketing department without any interfence of technical staff.
As a carrier for mobile telephone services e-Plus maintains a complex back end landscape. The amount of data that is being generated is enormous. Each and every connection creates data and is normally also relevant to invoicing. In order to meet this challenge e-Plus has introduced a strict SOA-Strategy. All relevant back end services are available through web services. The CQ front ends have consequently been designed as pure web service consumers.
Electronic Manual and HandyEngine
Two further applications accompany the described ECCs. One of them is a manual that provides all required information for call center employees. The other is a data driven catalog of mobile devices and manufacturers.
