”Good software comes from experience, intellect and the right team.“
pro!vision GmbH began operating in 2000 as a software house with offices in Berlin, Frankfurt am Main (2008) and Braunschweig (2016, since 2013 Wolfsburg ).
Currently employing about 60 members of staff, we are focused on web content management with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM, formerly CQ). pro!vision offers services along the entire production chain of a CMS project - from technical conception to software development and system integration right up to maintenance, and additional complex integration solutions.
Our main focus is Java web development. We have consistent, well-defined software development processes which we live "end-to-end" with our customers and constantly develop further. During the whole process we apply the most current standards and technologies.
pro!vision is Adobe's business partner for Adobe AEM. About 50% of our members are Adobe certified (in various roles). Our software testers are ISTQB certified.
"We work with machines. Not like them."
Software development is no mindless assembly-line work, but requires creativity, precision and also a certain kind of ethos. That’s why we stick to the rules of the Manifesto for Software Craftsmanship.
It’s important for us that we deliver very good results, but not only because that’s what the customer demands, but because we also want to see ourselves as specialists whose work stands up to the test of other specialists.
Our “fixed-price software” principle
We take full responsibility of delivering the requested software for a fixed-price within an agreed time-frame. We only request payment when our customers confirm this has been adhered to.
Those who achieve perfection, can also guarantee it
Software must be robust and remain maintainable. This is our common interest. Because we deliver profound and systematic architectural work, we are able to control the risks at all times, even on big and demanding projects. We also take on the technological risk and provide a guarantee on all of our work.
We have a structured approach
Delivering high quality software requires a structured approach. We have many years experience of working with project management methods such as SCRUM and PMI. Together with our customers we establish effective processes which are constantly improved upon.
However, it’s not the process itself that counts as first and foremost. The goal is to have control over project progress and on artefacts created. That’s what allows us to replace chance and surprise with clear agreements and predictable deliveries.
We work in-house
We work in our own premises, not at a customer's facilities. This way we can maximise know-how transfer and use the time more efficiently. However, our focus is on customer communication – but concentrated on the essentials.
”You need a deep understanding of technology to get the most out of it.“
We are Adobe AEM specialists
We have 10+ years experience in software development with Adobe AEM 6.x (formerly CQ) and have been in partnership with Adobe for many years. Through our lengthy experience of working with the CQ/AEM technology stack and in close co-operation with the software manufacturer, we are able to realise complex customer requirements without any risk to the client.
Benefiting from our long standing experience and close co-operation with the software manufacturer allows us to realise even the most complex customer requirements without running risks.
50% of our eliglible staff members are Adobe Certified in various roles, e.g. nine Business Practitioners.
Our clients are companies with international websites. For them we have implemented many marketing-driven product and corporate websites, highly personalised intranet portals, as well as mobile websites.
We understand technology
Adobe AEM is based on the latest technology, which inspires us. We don’t just use this technology, we really understand it and optimise its use. And we know the difference between production-ready and experimental technology.
We are software architects
Architecture is the heart of all software - and software stands and falls with its quality. Software architecture is at the very core of our expertise. As a result technological risks remain controllable, software remains maintainable - and can be flexibly developed further. We stand for sustainability in software development.
We deliver quality. Our testers are ISTQB certified at different levels.
We rely on open source
Open source technology and open standards are at the core of all our solutions. With AEM, Adobe adopts the same approach and anchors its technology strategy firmly in open source: Apache Sling, Apache Felix and Apache Jackrabbit.
We not only use these frameworks, but take an active part in the community and further development. Together with Adobe we organise the annual technical meet-up adaptTo() in Berlin.
We also create some. See wcm.io as a living example.
Our customers have complex system environments into which our software must integrate itself seamlessly.
Thus we have to bring together various technologies and co-operate with different teams without ever losing focus. Many years of working on major international projects have left us well equipped to do so.
”Nerd is not an insult, it’s a title.“
"Fact: Comfy clothes make for
intelligent life here?"
”For us the fun starts
where others lose track.“
”It's fun being in a
good, successful team.“
”We’ve got a handle on
complex and dynamic systems.“
”For good software you have
to work hard before and
after every line of code.“
”If you are satisfied with 90%,
you don't understand quality .“
”Here you can do what you want
as long as you do what you can.“
”We are not looking for resources,
but for software engineers.“
“Nothing's more satisfying than seeing our software working as it should.”
The adaptTo() conference
adaptTo() is a technical meetup focused on the Apache Sling framework, including Apache Jackrabbit and Apache Felix. It is aimed at developers using some or all if this stack.
2018 is the eighth edition of adaptTo(), which will take place in Potsdam (near Berlin), Germany. This year's event will be hosted in the Schinkelhalle and will be an interactive community experience. Our sponsors will support you by providing the platform to meet some of the most renowned Sling, Jackrabbit, and Felix developers.
Additional sessions will cover commercial implementations such as Adobe Experience Manager, with a particular focus on how these products leverage the architecture. And don't forget the Hackathon! Get in touch with the best and brightest mobile web minds from the Apache/Adobe community membership.
Speakers attend for free, Apache Committers receive a discount (please send us an e-mail for getting a discount code).

”Software development is a passion, not a profession.“
We continue to develop together
We offer our employees annual training programs so they can further develop themselves, as well as the opportunity to attend conferences and language courses. pro!vision also hosts the annual developer conference adaptTo() and contributes significantly to the development of Adobe Experience Manager though the open source project wcm.io. As such, we can not only offer our employees continuous development, but also provide our clients with the optimal and most up-to-date services.
We want interesting projects
We don’t want to do "everything", but rather projects that suit us and are fun. We believe that’s the only way to deliver the outstanding results that we and our clients can be proud of.
Support right from the start
We are team players! That's why it's important for us to have a friendly working atmosphere, right from the beginning. To ensure our employees have a smooth start, we offer them internal training, as well as a dedicated "buddy" to coach and support them through their first steps and beyond. Usually, the training period will be completed with one of our certification programs.
We have a flat hierarchy
Because we believe authority is gained through competence, we don’t need many management levels and administration. Quite the contrary: everybody is invited to take on as much responsibility as he or she feels confident with.
We pay overtime
Good work is worth good money and it should not go unrewarded. Our aim is to plan our work in such way that overtime is unnecessary. But if extra hours are required then those hours will of course be paid.
Workspaces in the heart of the city
If you have to do something in between, it’s always good if it’s within reach.
Our offices are located centrally in Berlin-Charlottenburg on Wilmersdorfer Straße and in Frankfurt-Bornheim near Berger Straße. Both have underground stations nearby.
